Moin, moin!

You should take a walk in the forest again. Stumping through the snow, listening to the silence. The "Birke forest" is the Hasseldieksdammer Gehölz at which borders the game reserve. It is 12.7 hectare big, has beautiful walks and you find wisents and bison, aurochs and Scottish Highland cattles as well as sika deer. But pay attention because the bison and the wisent aren’t tame but wild animals. However, the Highland cattles and the aurochs are domestic animals and you can stroke them. Off from the walks you find many grey herons and grey teals.

After such a winter walk you wanna warm up again. So, go to the Birke Day Spa, Kiel's extensive and exclusive wellness world. Swimming, saunas, relaxing, enjoying a massage or booking our classic, the oceanwell algae gel package. It is based on cultivated Laminaria algae which the company OceanBASIS grows and reaps in the Kiel Bay. The algae gel package is an extensive combination of sea water and Laminaria essence. As after a sea water shower moisture will be supplied to your skin and the cell metabolism will be activated quickly. The star in our kitchen remains in February the skrei from Norway, one of the most exclusive fish of Norway and only available for a short time. In the culinary way the skrei is delicious and nutritious. In the Fischers Fritz you get the skrei in a traditional way: poached with white wine sauce and bouillon potatoes (EUR 16.80) or as a fried skrei fillet on salsify and parsley potatoes (EUR 17,60) You can book your table for your first date with the skrei under: 0049 (0)431-5331-435.

More fish is waiting for you on 4 February from 6:00 pm in our restaurant. At the Fischers Fritz fish market we present you on our buffet in the restaurant fresh seafood specialities "on the rocks". You choose your fish from our varied offer from the Baltic and North Sea, our lakes and the North Atlantic and we prepare it according to your wishes. In addition you'll get regional and seasonal vegetables and potatoes. Before we serve you cold Northern German seafood specialities and afterwards you can choose your dessert from our big buffet. (EUR 34.50 per person incl. appetiser, fish dish at your choice and dessert buffet).
